Screening & Early diagnosis

The State of Kuwait stressed the importance of developing awareness on the environmental causes of some cancers, and strategic interventions within national action plans to address the harmful effects on health. Kuwait has successfully implemented the National Program for Early Diagnosis of Colorectal Cancer and the early diagnosis program for breast cancer among women.

Our Partners

The Ministry Of Health in the State of Kuwait collaborates with other entities to provide clinical expertise to Kuwait Cancer Control Center (KCCC) and strengthen cancer service delivery at the KCCC. Through this collaboration, KCCC offers our patients an access to the best internationally-certified cancer services, while ensuring continuous improvement of cancer care in Kuwait. We also focus on improving nursing and physician education, health administration and information technology. We continue to expand our experience internationally while developing systems and innovative approaches that would benefit our patients.

KCCC has it own An Anti-Cancer Treatment Task Force Team which recruited a balanced group of professionals from medical oncology department, radiation oncology department, hematology department, pharmacy, nursing section, as well as, the quality improvement department.

This team works in harmony to coordinate between different departments in KCCC to bring any newly approved Anti-Cancer Treatment Protocol into light.

Pre-printed Forms

KCCC administration approved a template to present each Anti-Cancer Treatment Protocol in printed format. These pre-printed forms provide a standardized request for chemotherapies, oral targeted therapies, monoclonal antibodies, hormonal treatment, or even immunotherapy.

The Anti-Cancer Treatment Task Force Team is responsible for ensure that any newly approved protocol should be presented as a pre-printed form before use.

Terms of use

The selection of any anti-cancer treatment modality is the responsibility of the dedicated treating team. Medical oncologists have the full privilege to prescribe any anti-cancer treatment modality. Other specialities have partial privilege to prescribe any systemic treatment. For example; radiation oncologists are authorized to prescribe hormonal treatment in prostatic adenocarcinoma…etc.

In this section, all the approved anti-cancer protocols are listed. The primary physician is responsible for disclosure of all informations about the treatment plan, the expected adverse events, and the alternatives. He/she will be solely responsible for verifying the doses, providing the prescriptions, and administrating the medications.

Once the pharmacy received the prescription, the dedicated pharmacist will double check the prescription and doses before dispatching the treatment. For any query, the pharmacist should directly contact the prescribing physician for further clarifications.
